Methods treatments

German clinics use all modern approaches, from classical to the latest personalized approaches.

IVF / ICSI

The classic in vitro fertilization program. ICSI for male-factor infertility.

PGT-A / PGT-M / PGT-SR

Genetic screening of embryos for chromosomal abnormalities and monogenic diseases.

Vitrification (Freezing)

Ultra-rapid freezing of eggs, embryos, and sperm — for delayed parenthood.

Time-Lapse Monitoring

EmbryoScope — continuous monitoring of embryo development. The best selection for transfer.

Endometriosis and Fertility

Laparoscopy plus an IVF protocol — even in severe cases.

Fertility Preservation

Before chemotherapy — egg retrieval and freezing. Fast-track within 2 weeks.

Sperm Cryopreservation

For cancer patients and transgender people before starting therapy.

How's it going cure

The standard patient pathway is from initial request to return home and long-term follow-up.

You send hormone tests, a sperm analysis, and ultrasound results. Assessment within 5 days.

  2. In-Person Consultation

Final planning: the protocol and stimulation start date.

  3. Stimulation (10–14 Days)

Partly done at home, partly in the clinic under supervision.

  4. Egg Retrieval and Fertilization

Egg retrieval plus ICSI or IVF. Time-lapse monitoring.

  5. Embryo Transfer

After 3–5 days. PGT-A is done 1–2 weeks before transfer.

  6. hCG Test

After 12–14 days. If positive, we support you through week 12.

Frequent questions

How many IVF cycles are usually needed?
In Germany — one cycle with a 65% success rate (for women under 35 with PGT-A). 80% of patients are pregnant within 2 cycles.
What is PGT-A and why is it done?
Genetic screening of embryos for aneuploidies (Down, Edwards, Turner syndromes). Only a healthy embryo is transferred, which lowers the risk of miscarriage.
Can I freeze my eggs at 35?
Yes, and it is recommended. Storage for 15+ years. The post-thaw success rate with vitrification is 95%.
Do you accept unmarried couples?
Yes — in Germany, unmarried couples have the same access to IVF.
How long does one IVF cycle take?
4–6 weeks: 2 weeks of stimulation, 1 week for retrieval plus transfer, 2 weeks waiting for the hCG test.
Is severe endometriosis treated in Germany?
Yes, it is a specialization — laparoscopy plus an IVF protocol. Pregnancies are achieved even at stage IV.
Does insurance cover it?
Public insurance from your home country — no. Some employers reimburse part of the costs.

Real patients who have been treated through Sofortmed

Reproductive medicine
«Five years of infertility, three unsuccessful IVF cycles at home. Sofortmed arranged an appointment at a Berlin fertility centre. A full diagnostic work-up was carried out — it revealed endometriosis that had been missed earlier. After laparoscopy and a new IVF cycle with PGT-A, pregnancy came on the first attempt. The whole process — three visits over 8 months. The coordinator kept in touch with the clinic between trips. The description is based on typical enquiries. Names and details have been changed.»
