In oncology, there is no single “best” clinic. There is, however, a clinic that is best suited to your specific diagnosis. Breast cancer and soft tissue sarcoma are completely different diseases that require different specialists, equipment, and treatment protocols. You should not choose just “a cancer clinic,” but rather a center that specializes specifically in your type of tumor.
The German Cancer Society (Deutsche Krebsgesellschaft, DKG) certifies cancer centers based on strict criteria: a minimum number of surgeries per year, multidisciplinary tumor boards, and documented survival rates. Among our partners, Helios Klinikum Berlin-Buch (including the unique Berlin-Brandenburg Sarcoma Center) and Ernst von Bergmann Klinikum in Potsdam hold DKG certification.
In German cancer centers, every cancer case is discussed at a multidisciplinary tumor board meeting: a surgeon, a medical oncologist, a radiation oncologist, a pathologist, and other specialists work together to determine the optimal treatment plan. This is not a mere formality—the Tumor Board protocol is legally mandatory for DKG-certified centers.
Before making a decision, ask: How many patients with your diagnosis does the clinic treat each year (the number of surgeries directly affects the outcome); what treatment methods are available (surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, proton therapy); whether molecular genetic testing of the tumor is performed; whether the clinic participates in clinical trials for your type of cancer.
Helios Berlin-Buch uses lutetium-177 therapy to treat prostate cancer and neuroendocrine tumors, as well as HIPEC and PIPAC for peritoneal carcinomatosis. As Europe’s largest university hospital, Charité provides access to clinical trials and experimental protocols that are not available at most other centers.
We don’t just “find a clinic”—we match you with a specialist tailored to your specific type of cancer, arrange for a second opinion on your histology in Germany, coordinate the Tumor Board, and provide comprehensive support throughout your entire treatment. From the initial consultation to follow-up exams after you return home.
Thank you! We will call you back shortly.
